Do I need council approval to remove a tree on the Gold Coast?

It depends on the size, location and species. As a general rule, if the tree is over 4 metres tall or 40cm in girth measured 1.4m above ground, you will need approval. There are exemptions, for example vegetation close to a building or an existing boundary fence. We assess your situation for free and prepare the council application for you if one is needed.

How much does tree removal cost?

It comes down to size, access, what is underneath the tree and how complex the drop is. That is why we quote on site rather than over the phone. Quotes are free, fixed price and in writing, so the number you are given is the number you pay.

How do I know if my tree is dangerous?

Warning signs are a lean with soil lifting around the roots, dead limbs over the house, visible decay or hollows in the trunk, cracks in major limbs, and any damage after a storm. If you spot any of those, get an AQF Level 3 to 5 arborist to look at it. We give honest advice, including telling you when a tree does not need to come out.

Can you get into my backyard if there is no side gate?

Usually yes. Our tracked Spider Lift is built for exactly that, and it has a low ground impact so it will not chew up your lawn. We have done thousands of tight access removals across the Gold Coast. Mention the access when you request a quote and we will plan for it.

What happens to the wood and debris?

It is chipped on site with our Bandit 150XPC and taken away as part of the job, then the site is blown down and left clean. If you want the mulch for your garden beds, just say so and we will leave it.

Can you work near powerlines?

Yes. The crew is qualified for work around powerlines and utilities, and we coordinate with the relevant authority when a job needs it. Every one of these jobs gets a documented Job Safety Analysis before work starts.

How long does a removal take?

Most residential removals are done in a day. Larger or more complex jobs run to two or three days. You will get an accurate timeframe with your quote, not a guess on the day.

Do you do insurance and storm work?

Yes, and we are CM3 accredited for insurance works. We are on call 24 hours for storm damage, we can make a site safe quickly, and we provide the documentation and photos your insurer will ask for.
